Never again am I booking a flight to San Jose with more than one connection. We had a 3 hour layover in Atlanta, then had about a 15 minute layover in Salt Lake City. We finally made it into San Jose yesterday afternoon.
Our rental is nothing to brag about. We got a PT Cruiser...pictures to come.
We met up with the owners of the condo we are staying at after we got the rental car. I wasn't sure what the place was going to be like, since all I received was a description and no pictures. John and I were both impressed. It's a fairly new 2 bedroom/2 bath two story condo with a little outdoor patio. It's much more "homey" than any hotel room.
We went out to eat at Fresh Choice last night. It's similar to a Sweet Tomatoes with all you can eat salads and soups. We attempted to go to Walmart last night, but it was even more chaotic than the one near our house (let's just say we are never going back there again). We left abruptly and ended up grabbing a few things at Whole Foods. This store was nice...a little pricey though. We may end up as organic eaters by the time our trip is over.
The weather is much cooler than home. It was in the 30's this morning...and John wanted to walk down the street to get coffee. We survived although my ears are a little frosty right now. We are going to take advantage of free day before I start my 1st round of visits to Stanford Hospital tomorrow.
John/Marisa,
ReplyDeleteThanks for inviting me to your blog. Glad you made it out there OK. Sounds like you have a nice place to stay while your away from home. Try to stay warm, sounds much cooler than FL. Nothing a good hot cup of coffee and a knit
cap/beanie won't cure. Dress warm and cuddle alot. We wish you the best and want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. From what John has told me, it sounds like you two are in the best hands in the world. So try to
get some rest and before you know it you will be back at home cuddling with your cats, working, and riding your mountain bikes.

30's? That's T shirt weather. It was 15 in Fairport this morning as I brushed 8" of snow off my windshield before leaving for work. High on thursday is supposed to be 8°F with a low of -2
ReplyDeleteI'll be checking in to see how your doing. It sounds like you are in good hands.
