Surviving Alafia

For the first time in nearly a year, we decided to go to Alafia to test my endurance and skills.

We started off on the on the North Creek trail which was awesome. I had more confidence and speed, since we started riding again after my surgeries. The trail maintenance crew was out there today, but they started early so we didn't run into anyone along the trails. River Loop was really wet and muddy, but still fun. Lots of mosquitos, but no gator sightings. We tackled Rock Garden and Sand Pine before heading back to the car for some much needed food and rest. I was so exhausted and starving.

After lunch, it was back out for one more "epic" ride. We consulted the guy parked next to us and decided to attempt Rollercoaster which is a single black diamond trail. Some of the downhills were a little sketchy for me, but still a lot of fun.

Here's my bike flying down Rollercoaster (John decided to ride it down):

Overall, it was a great day and well worth the drive. I really wish we could cancel the California trip.
