Eat, Sleep, Ride

This entry is about a week and a half late, but still worth the entry. The weekend before last Bryan joined us for a long weekend up at Mulberry Gap in north Georgia. The title sums up the entire weekend. It's about a 9.5 hour drive which really wasn't too bad considering I was in the back seat of the Tacoma for the whole ride along with our bags. This place is amazing to say the least. It's really a mountain bike/hike retreat with bunkhouses, hot tubs, hot showers, great people, and the best food on the planet.

This is our second trip to Mulberry Gap. The first was last October, before my diagnosis and surgeries. Diane and Andrew were gracious to shuttle us up to some of the trails that would have otherwise taken us over an hour to climb up to. We spent Friday and Saturday biking all the trails near the property. I've used my brakes more in two days than I have in the last month.

Since there is a chance the doctors could place restrictions on my physical activities after my visit to Stanford next month, I'm determined to get in as much biking as I can before the trip. This past weekend we totaled about 30 miles of riding and hopefully can build on that this coming weekend.
